DESCRIPTION:
Immediate need for a utility engineer familiar with plant utilities and building automation systems in a staff augmentation role.
- Replacement of all Cold Room Glycol cooling control valves (includes sizing new valves, procurement, scheduling and planning construction activities, commissioning, eTOP updates).
- Implementation of new ‘Alert’ process/alarm system for all temperature storage units across site. New system to be determined and agreed. It will either be an automatic alarm at a pre-determined alert temperature, or a process without alarms comprising of a weekly/monthly review of trended data. The process is to be proposed and agreed with area owners and engineering. And once agreed the new process will be implemented – SOPs to be updated and ‘alert’ process defined, manage software updates if applicable.
- Implementation of new calibration equipment and processes – includes equipment procurements, installation of additional monitoring capacity(probes, I/O etc), working with area owners and engineering to define logistics of new process.
- Refrigerant project – confirming all types and volumes of refrigerants on site.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in design and operation of such systems in GMP manufacturing environment
- Bachelors degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.

2) Project Manager/Sr. Project Engineer – 1 to 1.5 year contract (Pacific Northwest) B51LGXX
DESCRIPTION:
- Reports to Plant Manager/Manufacturing.
- Management and Project Engineering on Debottlenecking project. The person is to replace the current project manager and to take on the process engineering lead role as needed.
- Management activities consist of identifying various needs from client, tracking progress of the various engineers, present to client team(plant manager and manufacturing). Manage scope, budget and progress.
- The project has to be guided through conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design and implementation. End point is commissioning and qualification. Project engineering activities consist of working on various process engineering aspects of the project. There is process engineering support on this project (internal and external to client).
- The technical scope consists debottlenecking process capacity on an existing fill finish facility, capacity issues with the plant utilities, fixing ongoing issues with the facility, such vial loading and transfer in autoloading lyophyilizer, stopper processor issues, WFI loop design issues, undersized Clean Steam and Process Air headers, WFI loop stress due to thermal expansion problems.
- This is a challenging position, as the plant manager and manufacturing manager are most likely under significant pressure to turn this facility around.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires management skills and a good knowledge of drug products.
- A self motivated person that keeps the big picture in mind to drive the overall project to success.
